The exhibition is the result of a collaboration between Heritage Malta and the Rijksmuseum van Oudheden, the National Museum of Antiquities in Leiden, so these are genuine Leiden collection pieces rather than reproductions. It invites visitors to look beyond the familiar icons at a civilisation shaped by belief, daily life and ideas about death and the afterlife.
It sits inside the Auberge de Provence, one of the Knights' grandest surviving buildings, so guests get two things in one visit. No booking needed for ordinary admission.
The exhibition is open daily. The exhibition page gives museum hours of Monday to Sunday 09:00 to 17:00, last admission 16:30, with a 09:00 to 19:00 figure also shown on the listing, so it is worth a phone check before a late visit.
